Germany’s export controls: what you need to know

In association with Blomstein, WorldECR presents the latest in a series of planned webinars on the export control regimes of key economies.

In this 40-minute webinar, Berlin-based Blomstein Associate Laura Louca and Senior Associate Florian Wolf will present on key elements of Germany’s export control regime, walking participants through recent developments and tools, with a focus on technology transfers from the country. 

By the end of the session, web attendees will have a clear understanding of:

  • The challenges of technology transfer (e.g., external servers, cloud computing, travelling with your laptop)
  • How to reach your goal – overview of German licensing
  • The advantages of a collective export licence
  • Requirements for the collective export licence (ICP, Technical requirements, documentation obligation, application)

The duration of the webinar will be one hour (40 minutes plus 15 minutes for questions).

Laura Louca specialises in public procurement and international trade law. She represents German and international clients in proceedings in front of customs authorities, the European Commission or the German Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (‘BAFA’).

Florian Wolf specialises in public procurement law and foreign trade law. He advises contracting authorities as well as national and international bidders on German and European public procurement law questions and represents his clients before the procurement review bodies. In particular, he focuses on advising clients with regard to tender procedures in the fields of defence and security.
