The story of Marietta’s ghost squadron

On the grounds of Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta sit eight aging C-130 aircraft. Painted in desert tones and slowly rusting away, the planes sit in a diplomatic limbo. It is an interesting case: with a denied export license, some international intrigue through the US heartland, at least one peripheral smuggling case, and the creation of an interesting bit of plane spotting for those visiting the US state of Georgia.
