Following the “annexation” by Russia of Ukraine’s Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions on 6 October, the Council of the European Union adopted its 8th package of economic sanctions against Russia since the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February.
