BitPay settlement
The US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”) has announced a $507,375 civil settlement with BitPay, Inc. It is the second online payments company to settle apparent violations of multiple sanctions programs related to digital currency transactions, following a $98,830 settlement with Bitgo in December 2020.
