The European Studies Unit at the University of Liège in Belgium has created a new online app, or “dual-use assistance application”, designed to help researchers gauge whether their activities – e.g., collaborations, publications, transfer of items, or provision of technical assistance – require a license for export. The tool is free to use, and in return for brief details (name and institution), users receive an initial assessment of their licensing needs and potential risks.
