Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (“METI”) completed prosecution of its first sanctions related enforcement case. METI imposed a one-year export ban on Osaka-based Astrade Inc. and its Representative Director Andrei Sova for illegally shipping restricted goods to Russia in violation of Japan’s foreign trade controls.
Originally from Vladivostok, Russia, Sova was arrested for his actions in Japan last year.
