The German government has launched the “Erlangen Conference Series,” a forum intended to raise awareness among science researchers and academics about export controls, and which is a collaboration with the UN Office of Disarmament Affairs, the export control authority BAFA, and research institute Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft.
BAFA said the forum is important because it “sensitizes scientists” to the goals of export controls and supports the implementation of international agreements.
