$2m for failing to disclose researchers received foreign funds

In another enforcement action involving university research funding, on 2 October the US Department of Justice (“DOJ”) fined Stanford University nearly $2 million for allegedly failing to disclose that 11 “Principal Investigators” (“PIs”), academic researchers, were receiving foreign funds, including from two state-owned institutions in China for at least one of the PIs.
