The EU Council adopted a rule imposing tariffs on a range of agricultural products, along with some fertilizers from Russia and its close ally Belarus on June 7. The regulation becomes effective July 1 and applies EU tariffs to all farm products and fertilizer from Russia. The tariffs on fertilizers will phase in over three years to allow the bloc’s farmers time to adapt.
