Japan extends trade ban with North Korea

Tokyo has extended its trade ban on Pyongyang until April 2025. Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (‘METI’) said it “has decided to extend the ban on all exports destined for North Korea, and all imports originating in or shipped from North Korea’ until 13 April, 2025.
“The ban on all exports of goods destined for North Korea will be extended by imposing the requirement that exporters obtain export approval” from METI, the ministry said.
