In response to Vladimir Putin’s attempt to “annex” occupied areas of Ukraine, the European Union has passed its 8th package of sanctions against Russia. The new package includes prohibitions on some Russian imports, including those of “finished or semi-finished steel products that either originate in Russia or have been exported from Russia,” and of plastics, paper and wood pulp, vehicles, textiles, footwear, leather, ceramics and articles of stone.
