Data identification

The phrase “DIB Compliance Debt” describes a general inability to identify, control, track, and remediate unauthorized export-controlled information (“ECI”) location, access, transfer, and retransfer within the Defense Industrial Base (“DIB”) (see the figure, right). This article examines capabilities required to solve for the first known unknown of DIB Compliance Debt – data identification. If the data isn’t identified, it can’t be controlled, tracked, or remediated.
