China has urged Japan to roll back new export controls on semiconductor technology, saying the move “severely violates” international trade norms.
Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao made the appeal in talks with Japanese Trade Minister Yasutoshi Nishimura at the recent Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (“APEC”) trade ministers’ meeting in Detroit, China’s official Global Times newspaper reported.
