China’s Ministry of Commerce (‘MOFCOM’) and Ministry of Science and Technology (‘MOST’) have published amendments to the Catalogue of Technologies Prohibited and Restricted from Export – a move which some have suggested is a response to the current tightening of controls on China-bound exports by the United States but one which the Chinese government insists is an overdue update, given that the previous amendment was made in 2008.
